Frey Lutz History

The Frey Lutz Corporation, a leader in the plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) construction industry, was organized in 1977 by the partnership of Mr. Frey and Mr. Lutz. In 1978, the company was incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania. In 1988 a partnership consisting of five members bought out Mr. Frey’s share of the company. This partnership, which provided leadership for the company, consisted of Donald E. Lutz, President; Gordon R. Lehman, Executive Vice President; Robert L. Bitts, Vice President; Timothy L. Kopp, Vice President and Richard J. Donnelly, Jr., Treasurer. In 1997, after 19 years as President, Donald Lutz retired and Richard Donnelly, Jr., former Treasurer became the President and CEO of Frey Lutz Corporation. The other officers were Gordon Lehman, Executive Vice President; Robert Bitts, Vice President/Treasurer and Timothy Kopp, Vice President/Assistant Secretary. In 1998, after serving 10 years with Frey Lutz Corporation, Gordon Lehman also retired. In September 2002, Robert Bitts and Timothy Kopp retired from Frey Lutz Corp and Scott Rhoads became Vice-President. In Sept of 2006, a group of employees became additional shareholders in Frey Lutz Corp. In May of 2008, Robert Wagner, former Senior Project Manager became Vice- President and Nancy Daub, former Controller and Accountant became Chief Financial Officer. In 2012, Scott Rhoads became President of Frey Lutz Corp.  Rick Donnelly remains as CEO.  Frey Lutz continues as a leader in the mechanical contracting industry in south-central Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. We are continually looking at ways to expand and improve in our market.
